The Street Dance Association proudly participated in its inaugural UDO World Championships, which took place in the United Kingdom in 2024. We take the opportunity to thank The Federation of Dance Sport South Africa for the opportunities granted to Team SA. Our Team consisted of a remarkable delegation of 112 members, including 100 dedicated dance athletes and 12 devoted officials, comprised of safeguarding officers, coaches, and managers.

This extraordinary world event brought together an impressive gathering of 10,000 dancers over a dazzling five-day period. The energy and camaraderie exhibited by athletes representing diverse nations were truly electrifying, creating an unforgettable atmosphere.

Our delegation was expertly led by Craig Bullock and Mandy Bullock, the visionary Directors and Founders of the Street Dance Association. They have exemplified outstanding leadership throughout this journey.

The selected athletes participated in various competitions across each province, attending provincial trials where the best provincial squad was chosen to compete at the national event held in Gauteng in 2023. The SDA represented five provinces at the nationals: Western Cape, Eastern Cape, North West, KwaZulu-Natal, and the hosting province, Gauteng.

We would like to thank Mandy Bullock for her efforts in bring together teams who have formed excos across the country. The provinces with Mandy’s guidance have formed autonomous teams who constantly engage with dancers, schools and clubs creating a powerful avenue for recognition on the highest level being SASCOC.

The Street Dance Association is making significant strides across the country, working tirelessly to give every athlete a fair opportunity to represent South Africa.

We were delighted to have representatives from five provinces: Western Cape, Eastern Cape, North West, KwaZulu-Natal, and the hosting province, Gauteng.

We are thrilled to announce the onboarding of Limpopo Province into our Association, with Northern Cape joining in 2025. This expansion reflects our commitment to inclusivity and representation across the nation.

Our talented team comprised dancers as young as 12 years old, embodying the vibrant spirit and future of street dance. Upon returning home, Team SA celebrated remarkable achievements, and we invite you to enjoy the inspiring photos shared below.

The Street Dance Association is passionately dedicated to making significant strides in the dance community nationwide. We work diligently to ensure that every athlete has a fair opportunity to represent South Africa with pride.

Furthermore, we have been staunch supporters of the breaking community and will continue to lend our assistance. Breaking made its exciting debut in the 2024 Paris Olympics, and we were overjoyed to witness two of our exceptional female athletes, Courtnae Paul and Midian, triumphantly navigate the Olympic qualifiers.

While they did not secure enough points for Olympic representation, their achievements have etched their names in history for both our country and the continent.

We extend heartfelt gratitude to Craig Bullock, our esteemed SDA President, and to the outstanding team members that he had the privilege of working with Barry Baumgart, Anuq Wilson , Leticia Fischer, Vouks James and Angelo van Wyk for their unwavering commitment to serving on the WDSF Olympic task force for South Africa. Their efforts are paving the way for future generations of talented breakers, ensuring our nation’s continued progress.
